Data protection declaration and the provision of information to data subjects for the websites of the Hanseatic City of Stralsund (in accordance with Article 13 and 14 of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) (GDPR)). 1 Processing of personal data

1.1 Logging and retention

In principle, you can view the websites of the Hanseatic City of Stralsund without providing personal data. In order to ensure system security during use, it is necessary for some technical data to be stored for a defined periods of time:

Web server logs (file transferred, file not found, command not executed, etc.)

URL or provider from which the file was requested or the desired function was initiated

The legal basis for processing these data is § 15 para. 1 of Germany’s Telecommunications Telemedia Data Protection Act (TTDPA).

The log files of the web server and the IP address are stored for seven days. After statistical evaluation, log files are deleted. These data cannot be assigned to specific persons. The scope and functionality of transient cookies is explained below:

Transient cookies are automatically deleted whenever the browser is closed. This includes session cookies. These cookies store a session ID which is used to allocate different queries from your browser to a joint session.

This enables your computer to be recognised when you return to our website. Session cookies are deleted when you log out or close the browser.

If you send us personal data (e.g., surname, first name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address) using the contact form or by email, we will only use these data to respond to your enquiry or request. Afterwards, your data will be deleted.

Please be aware that data transmission via email is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, third party access cannot always be avoided.

3.1 Videos from YouTube

The website embeds videos from the YouTube website operated by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Embedding YouTube videos establishes connections to Google's servers, which can be used to send information to Google. Information on how Google handles these data and options for restricting data use can be found in Google's privacy policy.

 

3.2 Maps from OpenStreetMap

The website includes maps from the OpenStreetMap Foundation. The OSM privacy policy can be found on wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy. Any data requested by OpenStreetMap may also be processed outside the European Union.

 

4. Requests for information, correction, deletion, blocking and other rights

Upon written request, we can provide you with detailed information concerning the personal data stored by us and the use of these data. In addition, you can assert your rights to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection to processing as well as data portability. To do so, please contact the official data protection officer of the Hanseatic City of Stralsund. The legal basis for your claims and rights can be found in Articles 15 to 21 of the GDPR.
